Hello, The experiments you have on this website are very useful. I was hoping that you could put up some information on soalr panels. My lab group and I have been assigned a project to build solar panels. If possible, we are to build them with household materials. If you have any information on materials, instructions, etc.please send them to me. Thanks for your time, Megan

Very happy with this site! I have a question: Simple webcam (Logitech)+ good oldfashioned microscope. How do I get a picture on screen what I otherwise observe in the eyepiece? My experiments were not fruitful. Maybe I need another lens in between? Thanks, Rien Nederlof
Nederlof, Dr. M.H. - gaeanl@cs.com - http://ourworld.cs.com/gaeanl job: Geologist - inter: microscopy, protists, palynology, statistics - The Hague - Netherlands - Wed Oct 16 12:55:07 2002

It is simple: focus the webcam to infinity. Place it behind the eyepiece of the microscope by mean of a suitable adapter. Connect the webcam to the television set with s-video or low-frequency video cables. Set the TV in AV1 channel. At this point, you should see something on the screen. Find the right distance of the webcam from the eyepiece to avoid vignetting and fix the camera in the best position. Adjust the illumination and focus the microscope. The main problem is to obtain or to make the adapter. Here you can find a picture of an universal adapter: http://www.funsci.com/fun3_en/upic/upic.htm. Moreover, many webcam have only the USB output which is not suitable to connect to TV posts. We hope this can help you. :)

Could I have permission to print out your instructions for making the toys so I could make one of each and then display the toy with the instructions mounted on a board in our Dolls and Toys Shop. Credit being given to you folks. I have worked this shop and find the boys are disappointed when they come in because they have nothing but dolls in there and this would add so much to it. Oh how these toys bring back memories. Thanks for a great web site.

I was trying to download some of the experiments but it didn't work. I was wondering if anyone could answer my question. If organisms have to carry out 7 processes of life: Movement Respiration Sensitivity Nutrition Energy Reproduction Growth and there are cells that carry out each of these, then how does a single-celled organism manage with only one cell. I was just wondering because I am taking my Science KS3 SATs in two days and I have been revising recently, and this question just occured to me.
